This weekend was...long. I know right, who says that? But I honestly feel like it lasted a week. Not that I'm complaining, we just did so so much in such a short amount of time. Want a sneak peak? I certainly hope so, because today I'm linking up with one of my faves today for her Weekend Update. But don't worry, I've got some home/DIY/crafty goodies in there for you. Let's recap.
Friday: We had the final tasting with our caterer (spoiler alert: the food is going to be AH-MA-ZING), which meant we got to enjoy the Science Museum a bit. We arrived early, so we may have spent a little too much time playing on the musical stairs that lead up to our reception space. Yes, you read that right. Musical stairs, boys and girls. SO. MUCH. FUN. I mean, can't you tell by the enthusiasm Noel is showing? He can just hardly contain himself!
After the tasting, we stopped by one of my all-time favorite stores, Target, (anticlimactic, I know) and purchased these bad boys for our bedroom. Aren't they just lovely? I don't know if I'm more excited about the curtains themselves, or the fact that I will no longer have to be woken up by sun blasting me in the face. It's a toss up.
After we finished, everyone skidattled, so I drudged upstairs, and wrote a paper.
Sunday: Sunday-Funday. I woke up early, awaiting the aftermath of yesterdays fiesta, which of course didn't roll through the front door until sometime this afternoon. So, the day was spent writing yet another paper (noticing a theme here?), cleaning, laundry, and getting a few groceries (some of which are proudly displayed in this beautiful anthropologie bowl I received from a pretty awesome blogger).
Oh, and at some point this weekend, I rearranged our living room (which is a weekly occurrence in this household), to find a temporary home for this beauty as we await the arrival of its partner.

After Target, we picked up Noel's wedding ring (SO weird to see a ring on him)...and then went home and relaxed for what remained of our evening.
Hint: that's not his actual ring...if you look close you'd see a big sparkler on that one. We just like to tease Noel for having such little fingers by making him put on my ring, so Noel, please don't murder me for this picture. It's my fav.
Saturday: We woke up bright and early, as it was someone's big day! 8:30am we were packed and in the car, heading to Lake Minnetonka, so I could drop Noel and one of his friends off for: THE BACHELOR PARTY. Mr. Sassy Pants had a fun filled day of boating, limos and downtown shenanigans, while I slaved away back at home.
So I'm joking. I didn't slave away all day. But, the weather was PERFECT for being out on the lake, and all of these wonderful guys were in town that I never get to see...so I just wanted to hang out with them all day! But alas, I headed home, and let them enjoy their party.
That afternoon, three of my beautiful bridesmaids came over, and helped me crank through some DIYs we're doing for the wedding. Here's a sneak peek...and don't worry, I'll have tutorials and all that jazz for you post-wedding.

I also came across this funky, Lumisource Element Touch Table Lamp, at no place other than Kohl's (who woulda thunk?). I'm obsessed with it, and need to find a place for it in my home so I can run out and buy this bad boy.
How was your weekend? Link up and share!
I remember the whirlwind of wedding planning! Especially towards the end (as you're seeing) there are 900 things that need to be done. It was a lot of fun, though. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy weekend was great! I went to a blogger party and got to meet some of my internet buds face-to-face.

Love those Target curtains, they'd go with our bedroom too! Can't wait to see what you do with those mason jars. Candles? Vases? Your chair is so cute, reminds me of a pair of chairs that I re-did in a ikat yellow and gray fabric.
ReplyDeleteWow! You weren't kidding! That's def a busy, but great, weekend! I'm so curious to see what you do with those pretty mason jars :)
