creative uses for old wine bottles

As I sit here and enjoy a fabulous glass of wine, the idea came to me to do a post in honor of what I am currently consuming.  Today for "wedding wednesday," we're going to talk about how you can reuse old wine bottles in your home.  We've seen them frequently used in wedding decor, whether it be as candle holders, table numbers, or whatever other creative things you artsy fartsy people come up with...so I thought I'd investigate what other ways we can repurpose this item.

While I love the idea of repurposing wine bottles as vases or using them to create a coffee table, my favorite way to reuse wine bottles is in light fixtures.  It adds an element of "fun" to your space, and sets your home apart from everyone else's.

I'm obsessed with the last example.  Primarily because it reminds me of a DIY knockoff of these chandeliers:

  1. we used wine bottles in some of our table decor and I thought it added some charm. I absolutely love the wine bottle "chandelier". I may have to start collecting...
