breaking news on the homefront

As I mentioned Wednesday, I have some really exciting news to share with you guys: the spoon ring tutorial has surfaced again...twice.  I just found out it's going to be featured in the next issue of Sage Magazine (coming out December 10th!), which is kind of crazy, right?!

Not only that, but a few weeks ago, I was contacted by Seventh Generation asking if I would take part in their Christmas GIF Guide.  When I first received the email, I legitimately thought it was fake, because why would Seventh Generation, a brand that I happen to use on a daily basis, be contacting little ol' me?

As it turns out, they came across the tutorial, and they wanted to include it in their GIF Guide.  You guys are probably wondering why I keep spelling "Gift" wrong.  Well, I'm not.  For those of you that don't know, a GIF is a file format that essentially shows short video clips.  So for their Christmas Gift Guide, they've selected four DIY projects to showcase, all from some fabulous bloggers.  Each of the projects will be presented as little videos (I saw a sneak peek of it...it's awesome). This too will be released soon, so stay tuned and I'll let you know when it's out!

They originally had asked me to contribute two projects to the GIF Guide (2 out of 5 projects?! I was loving life)...so I made a fabulous chandelier out of nothing other than old toilet paper cores.  Due to space constraints, however, they ended up just using the spoon ring tutorial (bumski).  Have no fear though, the chandelier will be making its presence known on this blog before long.  And trust me, it's awesome.

The last exciting bit of news around here these days: I've officially hired a co-writer.  Her name is Roxy.  Although she's wonderful at typing, her spelling is a little off, so it may be a while before I let her take full control over the blog.  Okay, I kid, I kid.  Roxy's our new puppy, and she unfortunately will not be Dog with a Blog (yes, I'm ashamed to say I've seen that show...but I was babysitting so cut me some slack).

And one last thing before I get back to studying: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND!  Mr. Noel is the big bad 25 today, so tonight we're off to bottle the beer we brewed two weeks ago, followed by dinner and birthday pie (after seeing pictures our guests snapped at our wedding, I've decided I should never feed Noel cake again).

I mean look at that face!  Hahaha I'm in so much trouble...love you, Noel! :)  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I'll be back with more design goodies on Monday.

  1. First of all, congrats on your new exposure/features! That's so exciting! And also, your new puppy is making me baby talk at my screen.
