our second home!!

You guys!! We have a home!! We're so excited, and Roxy can't wait to chase all the squirrels (if you can't tell by her face and tail that's blurred from wagging).

After selling our townhouse nearly a month ago, it feels so good to finally have a home we can call our own.  For those of you that remember, we went through quite the process to get this home, and we actually didn't think there was any chance we'd be in it as soon as we are.  On Friday, I was talking to our loan officer just to get an update, and from the way she was talking, it sounded like we'd be able to close in a week and a half or two.  Well, she's awesome and made calls to the right people because late Friday night, we got a call asking how we'd feel about closing Monday.  How would we feel?  Um, we would be ecstatic!

 So now to the fun part...the house pictures!!

The picture above was from the MLS listing (all the pictures I have somehow managed to get Noel blocking half of the house).  As you can probably guess, we have much bigger things in store for this currently ugly colored packer home.  Noel is trying to make me wait until next spring to paint it.  I'm not sold on that idea. :)  As for what we want to do to it, I would love love loooove to have the outside look something like this (don't mind my super janky photoshop job - I did it in the car):

But as much as I love that stunning craftsman door, stone, and cedar shingles, we can't justify the extra couple thousand dollars it would cost (the door alone is $1000!) as it isn't worth the investment, so we'll probably end up with something like this..which in reality, is just fine by me.  Swoon.

Now if I could only figure out a way to get the house to paint itself.... :)
