This past summer, we saw a lot of coral trending, whether it was in fashion or home decor. While coral looks great against many colors, one of my favorite colors to pair it with is gray. This pairing, while often feeling very summery, can actually transition well into fall decor.
As you move into autumn, look for corals with more of an orangey base, and pair that with warmer grays, or greige (gray + beige). This makes the colors appear more muted, which is more in line with the colors of the season.
When you use this color scheme in the summer, look for more blue based grays and more pinky corals. This creates a brighter look and the colors seem to pop.

What do you think of this color combo? Do you think coral is too seasonal of a color to use in your home decor, or would you proudly rock it all year long?
I love the color coral! It was fun to see you yesterday! Were you on your way to West Elm? I walk by that store everyday on the way to lunch with my co-workers. I've never been in there, but I always think I should stop by someday after work because they put such cute things out on the sidewalk! (I'd also never been to the Container Store... But I think it's my new favorite place now!) Looking forward to seeing what house you buy and how you decorate it!

I was on my way to west elm...you know me so well! :) We'll have to get together for coffee or something sometime soon!
DeleteLOVE that headboard!
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite use of coral is in the second picture with the teal accents as well. Cannot wait to not have to decorate a room around a hand-me-down red couch haha! I am so ready for a greige couch :)
