house updates 2.0

The board & batten in our bathroom is just about done!  I'm so excited - it's looking awesome.  All I have left to do is apply a final coat of paint, and then touch up the paint above it and this project is in the bag.  Here's how it's shaping up (and for those of you who weighed in with your decisions last week, we decided to go with option "C").

I love the detailing it adds to the space - it makes it feel much more finished.  And just you wait until you get a close-up view of the tile we put in...it will blow your mind.  We also framed out the mirror, so our plain mirror didn't feel so "builder boring." It's amazing what a little trim can do to a space.

Downstairs, we said goodbye to our carpet.  I really wanted to keep carpet in the living room area (because I actually really liked the color of our living room), but wood floors are better for resale, so I had to suck it up and say goodbye.  It's so weird walking downstairs and seeing wood.  I can't get over it.

I also painted our half bath.  The blue was just a bad idea from the start...I don't know what I was thinking (clearly I wasn't).  I didn't get too fancy and just painted it the same color as our living/dining space.  Truth be told, I only picked that because I had almost an entire gallon here, and it's a neutral, which once again, is good for selling (sensing a theme here?).

Noel and I both still hate that pedestal sink, but I'm at the point now where I don't think it's honestly worth it to change it out.  It's in really good condition, we just don't like the look of it.

So that's what we've been up to the last few days...we're going to keep on keeping on and hopefully finish all these projects in the next few weeks.
