Gone are the days when a single photograph adorns each wall of your home. These days, people have become incredibly creative in the ways they display artwork, so each day this week, I'll show you examples of different ways to showcase your pictures. This image below is just a tease of what's to come...
Today we'll focus on the staircase. When adding artwork near your stairs, you have many different options. Lately, a popular trend has been to cluster or group photographs, whether in a random or organized pattern. Doing so takes up more wall space and adds for greater visual interest, so we'll take a look at the different grouping patterns and types.
Gallery style parallel to stairs:
The key to making this style a success is to make sure the angle that the pictures make runs parallel to the angle of your stairs. Also, before you hang the pictures, I would recommend cutting out cardboard or paper templates the same dimension as your frames so you can test out different arrangements before nailing into the wall.
When you are arranging your pictures in a linear manner, accurate measurement is essential. Below is a picture showcasing how you can make sure your pictures still line up even when they're running at an angle.

Random grouping:
Another way to line the walls of your stairs is to group pictures in a randomized fashion. Whether around windows or in individual clusters, this grouping style is similar to the previously mentioned gallery style, with just a little less structure.
Organized array:
For those who like things to be a little more simplistic, this may be the solution for you. Arranging your photos in an organized array, whether it simply runs parallel to your stairs or becomes a grid pattern in the stairwell, is another great way to display your photos.
Lastly, here is a sample template for those of you wondering how to space the pictures.
