We're doing something a little different this Wednesday and looking at a color opposed to a fabric as we have the past few weeks. This color just happens to be my all-time favorite color, so when it came down to picking colors for our wedding, it was obvious that aqua would be involved.
Although aqua can be a subtle color, it can also be quite a bold choice in home decor. So I decided to feature some rooms that may otherwise get neglected by the glorious color: kitchens and bathrooms. The reason these rooms generally tend to be more neutral is because of their permanence. After all, it is much easier to repaint a wall than it is to replace tile or refinish cabinets. However, for those of you who are risk-takers in your decor, here are some inspirational images if you're thinking about taking the plunge into the shades of blue.
Kitchens:
One of the ways to cool down your kitchen is to incorporate this soft shade into your backsplash.

...or you could be brave and paint your cabinets this color (or even use an aqua counter!). I love when this bold choice of color is paired with white subway tiles for a backsplash and highlighted with black accents.
Bathrooms:
When utilizing this color in your bathroom, I love when softer shades are used and then complemented with white accents. This creates a very calming feeling overall, and doesn't make the bathroom feel so overwhelming.
