gettin' woodsy

Trend alert: reclaimed wood.  I am in LOVE with all of the fun and unique uses for this virtually free material.

First up...use it as an accent wall.  Check out some of the fabulous ones below.

This gorgeous wall is featured on DesignSponge.  I highly recommend you read the post because there are several other gorgeous transformations of this same house.

This wood wall acts as the focal feature of this adorable soon-to-be nursery.  Over on Bower Power they have a full tutorial of how they accomplished this masterpiece.

Obsessed with this wall in the Slowpoke Cafe in Melbourne, created by the French designer Sasufi.  In the picture below you can see how the wall actually becomes the shelves.  Love!

This stunning wall/headboard at Ace Hotel in Portland lead us nicely to our next category...

Reclaimed use number 2: Headboards

This full DIY can be found at Lovely Craft Home.

I know, I know...I've posted this image from House Tweaking before.  But, can you really blame me?  This headboard is just perfect.

Reclaimed wood beams = stunning.

Reclaimed use number 3: Odds and Ends - I love all of these different uses!

I adore the mix between rustic and modern in this kitchen by Rawlins Calderone Design with the reclaimed lumber island.

And you can't tell me you wouldn't LOVE to have this staircase in your home...

...or these chairs.

Check out this GORGEOUS countertop.

Or destruct a pallet and make these sweet little shelves

Just think of all the fun things you can make...the possibilities are endless!
