OUR WEDDING

On May 11th, 2011, I got engaged to my best friend...this charming young fellow:

And recently, on 8-10-12, we tied the knot!

As a designer, planning a wedding was just something else to design...and I loved every minute of it.  Well, that's a lie.  Some parts weren't so much fun.  Like the guest list.  That was hard.  Other than that, when it came to picking out all the pretty things, I was design heaven.

So, since this is something I love so much, I thought I'd let you guys follow along as I reveal all the juicy details that were our wedding.

Save the Date:
Noel likes to tell me that I have a champagne taste on a beer budget, which, okay, is probably true.  But it's not my fault I like beautiful things (that happen to be really expensive)!  With that being said, planning a wedding on a budget, but still wanting everything to feel luxurious, was challenging.  Enter: lots of DIY.  And I mean lots.  Wherever we could save a dime we did, and the save the dates were definitely one of those areas.

Now, I definitely did not want to NOT have a save the date, but I really didn't want to pay for postage on all those bad boys.  Not only that, but I wanted to do something different...something people don't always do.  So, I decided to make a video.  Once it was done, we put it on our wedding website, and emailed the link to everyone.  Take a looksy at how it turned out:

{FYI the video gets kind of jumpy at the beginning if it hasn't fully loaded}

Bridal Shower & Bachelorette Party:
My MOH and bridesmaids threw me the most amazing French-themed bridal shower.  It was so much fun and so adorable...so click here to check it out!

Invitations:
I designed and made our wedding invites, and I included a fun little barcode scanner that would bring people right to our wedding website.  Check out this post to see more pictures of our invites, and to learn how to make your own QR Code.

    1. Thank you so much! In all reality, the date doesn't have a ton of significance (except the fact that it's 8/10/12, which we think is cool)...it was just one of the only weekends that worked for us when our venue was available. I was surprised at how booked up venues were, even a year and a half out!
