small is the next big thing?

Let me just start out by saying that holy moly are we dependent on the internet.  I fiiiiinally got internet installed in my new apartment after spending two entire weeks without it...and to put it mildly, I never want to have to do that again.  I felt like I lived in the stone age.  And, I even had internet at school (not to mention a smartphone).  Pathetic, I know.  But alas, internet is back and life will go back to normal, which means no more blog slacking..cross my heart hope to die.

I recently undertook a little project of transforming the laundry closet.  In order to do so, I found this great little shelf I wanted to hang, and to give it a little pizzazz I thought it'd be fun to find a unique wallpaper pattern to line the back of the shelf...you know, maybe a little something like this:

ENGAGED!

Confession: this post will not be home related.  Noel and I just took our first go-round of engagement pictures, and I am just too excited not to share. So, here is a little glimpse at a few of my favorites.  The pictures were taken by none other than my mother (who just so happens to have a knack for photography), and then I took the raw images and edited them to death.  Overall, I'm pretty darn happy with the results.

a work in progress...

I flew back to Minnesota late Saturday night, and I have been going non-stop since I've gotten home.  So far I've painted the guest bathroom and conquered the living room/dining room/kitchen with the help of my fabulous cousin...and can I just say we are LOVING having some color in the house?

We still have a ton to do...all of the upstairs, all three bedrooms, the master bathroom and our downstairs bathroom, but we're getting there. So here's a little teaser of what we've accomplished so far:
